Geotechnical Studies

Bhygraph Géotechnique provides comprehensive geotechnical investigation and soil-testing services to understand ground conditions before construction. Established in 2013, the company operates as the geotechnical laboratory of the Bhygraph group and is accredited by the Cameroon Ministry of Public Works in Category A.

Our engineers and drilling teams investigate soil and subsurface conditions to support the safe design of buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and linear infrastructure. We carry out drilling, in-situ testing, laboratory analysis, and engineering interpretation to provide reliable information for designers and project owners.

Field investigation and in-situ testing

Our services include Ménard pressuremeter testing, CPT and CPTu, SPT, heavy dynamic probing, core drilling, and piezometer installation. We also perform investigations in challenging environments, including marshy areas and over-water locations using barge-mounted equipment.

Our CPT/CPTu equipment can investigate soil resistance continuously to depths of up to 60 metres.

Core drilling services provide direct access to soil and rock samples, including undisturbed sampling, lithological descriptions, photographed core boxes, and piezometers, with documented projects reaching depths of up to 80 metres.

Laboratory testing

Our laboratory identifies and classifies soils, determines their mechanical properties, and tests construction materials according to applicable NF EN and NF P standards. Laboratory capabilities include triaxial and oedometer testing, as well as testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, cement, bituminous materials, and steel.

Foundation engineering

These investigations allow our geotechnical engineers to develop appropriate soil models and provide foundation recommendations in accordance with Eurocode 7.

We cover foundation engineering from initial investigation through to recommendations for shallow foundations, rafts, and piles. Our studies also address settlement calculations, slabs, pile monitoring, and assessment of existing foundations.
